Well I don't really know where to start since i do not like to write on my blog...

The past week I had to put down one of my best friends. I told her before she passed that she was honestly in all meaning of the words, the best dog any little boy could ever ask for. Sure she was a little "Spaz" as a puppy but that's what a young family needs. I went through a few dogs before her, unfortunately, but finally found the right one. When I brought her home I named her Nala, and that was quickly changed by my sisters to Shadow. I never understood why we would name a girl dog that but I think now I know. Although its hard to remember 15 yrs back I do remember the all the good times. Like when she'd follow me every sat. while I would mow the lawn, or when I'd put her on the trampoline with me to eat oranges, or try to spray her with water and she'd try to run away, take her on walks down to the horses and tell her about my troubles in high school. Or try to call her name softly as I would sneak in late so she wouldn't bark, and end up petting her when she'd roll over being so excited I was home. Or when i would let her in the house as soon as mom would leave, and feed her hot dogs. She even came to watch Holly swim long distance at Saguaro lake, and got mud and hair all over Brittneys car.(never knew she did anything wrong) She would always greet you with her butt waggin' and bouncing off her front legs, such charisma and charm for a dog.

She lived a full life of 15+ yrs and I think got a little tired and bored after everyone left the house. Our family will always remember our little "Shawdow" -not a misspell, and all of her memories. As she was leaving for heaven I tried to thank her for so so many years of friendship and love, but couldn't get the words out from behind my tears. She understood. Thanks Shadow for being the best dog in the world. I hope they have lots of birds for you to chase in heaven... we will see you soon, and ... get some rest.
